Recognise (2017)

An evening of poetry and open mic. With external performers including Owanari Briggs, CelleLDN, Deb Orah, DJ Haych, Russeni, Jermaine Wong, Bethany Uppal and a surprise visit from Faith Child, this was an evening of encouragement. It also caused people to step out of their comfort zone, to perform and share in word and testimony.

It Is Written: It Is Spoken (2016)

An evening of poetry at the Mully's Basement Bar, UCL. The night was an opportunity to hear the words and pieces of talented artists from UCL but also externally. More information about the performers details are found on the poster below.

Overcome (2014)

Meet Gemma… a young woman who has more to her than meets the eye. Forced to open previously unopened doors and pave her way through the hurricane of her own past, she encounters people who have impacted her life in both positive and negative ways. With pressure from close friends mounting, Gemma has to decide whether or not she will allow herself to be taken out of the box she so readily placed herself into years ago.
But the questions still remain… will she leave her chains behind?

Will she overcome?

Beautiful Feet (2013)

To play, press and hold the enter key. To stop, release the enter key.

Set in one of the most common meeting places – a coffee shop – Beautiful Feet is a collection of spoken word poetry pieces written and performed by UCLU VOCE Gospel Performing Arts Society members. We will walk through the lives of seemingly unrelated non-fictional characters whose friendships open the door to discussions about their past experiences. The show will feature the unique fusion of an increasingly popular art form (spoken word) with live music to explore how revisiting our respective pasts, with a readiness to deal with the issues that lay beneath a polished surface, can help us to move forward.
